Western Australia does not currently have Emergency Management legislation. This document is the overarching Policy Document for Emergency Management in Western Australia. The document is subject to review and change with the approval of the Minister for Police and Emergency Services. The document is issued under the authority of the State Emergency Management Committee as approved by Cabinet on 18 July 1985.

The FLUBORDERPLAN is an operational plan which supports the Council of Australian Governments National Action Plan for Human Influenza Pandemic (July 2006) and is consistent with the health response to pandemic influenza threat outlined in the Australian Health Management Plan for Pandemic Influenza 2008 (AHMPPI).
