The Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) (PDF 3.05MB) provides a framework for the management of drinking water supplies appropriate for local conditions. The Guidelines are intended for any drinking water supplies intended for human consumption to safeguard human health and the aesthetic qualities of water.
Drinking water (potable water) is water that is intended primarily for human consumption but it also has other domestic uses such as bathing and showering. It may be consumed directly as it comes from the tap or indirectly in beverages or food that have been prepared with water.
All drinking water service providers in WA must comply with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.
