The aim of this State Health Emergency Management Support Plan (hereafter known as WestPlan Health) is to outline the State Health planning framework that guides the prevention, preparation, response to and recovery from, any extraordinary incident that may be classified as a major incident, disaster or emergency and incorporates a multi agency response, multiple casualties, public health threat or humanitarian assistance.

This Plan applies to all occurrences of human epidemics in the state of Western Australia managed within the legislative responsibilities of the Department of Health (DOH), and that require activation of emergency arrangements.
