Virus Watch
This is a weekly email from Communicable Disease Control Directorate (CDCD) in collaboration with PathWest, SPN(WA), ASPREN, and Perth Emergency Departments which briefly summarises in bullet point form the activity of viruses responsible for Influenza Like Illness (ILI), viral gastroenteritis and viral rashes in WA . Virus WAtch is also the vehicle for the distribution of more detailed electronic reports such as Virus News and EDSS News.
Virus New combines Sentinel Practitioners Network (WA) clinical reporting with relevant laboratory information and CDCD notification data to generate comprehensive information on the viruses responsible for ILI, gastroenteritis and viral rashes currently circulating in the community.
Emergency Department Sentinel Surveillance (EDSS) News is a summary of clinical presentations for respiratory viruses, gastroenteritis and viral rashes seen in our Perth emergency departments over the last 8 weeks.
