Application Process for Urban Development Water Recycling Schemes

For large urban development water recycling schemes, please refer to the “Approval framework for the use of non-drinking water in Western Australia (External link)". For such schemes, submissions must be made to the Department of Water (Water Recycling and Water Efficiency Branch) (External link).

Application Process for Greywater Reuse

The Code of Practice for the Reuse of Greywater in Wester Australia (2010) set the minimum requirements on single residential domestic premises, or multiple dwellings/commercial premises producing up to 5000 L/day of greywater for sub-soil irrigation. Please contact your local government Environmental Health Unit and remember that only approved systems can be installed in the State.

Greywater reuse not covered by the Code of Practice for the Reuse of Greywater in Wester Australia (2010), must be approved by the Executive Director, Public Health prior to implementation
