The role of the Hospital Health Coordinators Group (HHCG) is to:
- provide strategic leadership of metropolitan hospitals to support, individually and jointly, their ability to meet respective operational obligations in a major incident or pandemic, as outlined in WESTPLAN Health and WESTPLAN Human Epidemic, and
- foster collaborative development of policy and establishment of infrastructure to enable better prevention of, preparedness for, response to and recovery from internal hospital incidents that may affect service delivery locally or system wide.
The Committee reports to the State Health Coordinator (SHC) as the Chair of the Health Services Subcommittee (HSS), who in turn reports directly to the State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC).
The Chair of the HHCG is the Manager, Disaster Preparedness and Management Unit.
