Select hospitals have Chemical, Biological and Radiological (CBR) protective suits in order to protect staff whilst decontaminating contaminated personnel that self present to the hospital. The suits are single encapsulating with air supplied via a powered air purifying respirator.

Prior to operating in the provided CBR protective suits all personnel must receive the appropriate training. Training consists of classroom and practical activities. Operators must also be trained on the use and wearing of the radios used whilst inside the suit.
