Recycled water
recycled water signWA Health encourages the use of recycled water for non-potable end uses. Recycled water derived from sewage, sewer mining, greywater and industrial wastewater can be treated and utilised for irrigation, toilet flushing, dust suppression and a wide range of uses other than drinking.

The ‘Australian Guidelines on the Use of Recycled Water: Managing Health and Environmental Risks (Phase 1)’ were released in 2006. WA Health has just released for comment an interpretation of the Guidelines for the WA context (see links below). These Guidelines are out for community, industry and government input until the 5th June, 2009.

Tankered Recycled Water Supply

The following document describes the procedure for licensed wastewater service providers or minesites to supply recycled water to water carriers for subsequent beneficial use.
