The  WA Health Promotion Strategic Framework 2012–2016 (HPSF)

The WA Health Promotion Strategic Framework 2012–2016 sets out WA Health’s strategic directions and priorities for the prevention of chronic disease and injury over the next five years.

The goal of the HPSF is to lower the incidence of avoidable chronic disease and injury in WA by facilitating improvements in health behaviours and environments.

The HPSF focuses on the main lifestyle risk factors which contribute most to the burden of disease and injury in our State. These include:

  • overweight and obesity
  • nutrition
  • physical activity
  • tobacco use
  • harmful levels of drinking

A section on injury prevention is also included.
