Environmental health regulation review

The Environmental Health Directorate is undertaking a review of environmental health related regulations (PDF 25KB) it is responsible for and proposes a number of options.

These have been based on consultations over a number of years by the Directorate, undertaken with Local Government Environmental Health Officers who administer the regulations. In addition, there were various reports and proposals for legislative reform by member organisations and special interest groups.

The program proposes three outcomes for the regulations:

  • a repeal category
  • a review ASAP category and
  • a category review later aligned with the Public Health Bill 2008
